The enigmatic seaside town on California’s Victoria Beach looks like something out of a storybook. Built in 1926, the 60-foot building, lovingly known as the “Pirate Tower,” is in reality a private staircase, which the owners would use to access the beach. So the story goes, the stone turret got its name from how one owner would dress up as a pirate and hide coins among the rocks. Watch the full video to see the tower’s majestic beauty.
